Learning a language isn’t easy, and for many people the most challenging skill to master is listening. Trying to understand what people say can be difficult and even stressful sometimes, which is why it’s so important to spend time on your listening. Like any skill, the best way to improve listening comprehension is through regular practice.
This video give you an excellent way to practice listening in 3 steps:
- Step 1: Listen to the story at low speed so you can understand the story easier.
- Step 2: Learn vocabulary of the story.
- Step 3: Listen a seconds time at full speed. This time, you should listen and read along. The video has highlighted current reading word so you can read along easily.

I focus mostly on teaching “Modern RP” (I may just say “RP” in my older videos, but to clarify, I do specifically mean “Modern RP”), however, you will hear a lovely little Yorkshire twang to my accent from time to time too.
