全国学力・学習状況調査が実施されました。今年度は初めて、中学英語の「話す」テストがオンラインで行われます。全国学力・学習状況調査は、全国の小学6年生と中学3年生にあたる児童・生徒を対象に毎年行われています。県内では今年度、小中学校や義務教育学校合わせて278校のおよそ9000人が参加しました。国語と算数・数学に加え、2019年に始まった中学3年生の英語も4年ぶりに行われています。英語は「聞く」「読む」「書く」がきょう実施されますが、「話す」の調査はタブレット端末を用いて初めてオンライン形式で行われます。日程については学校ごとに異なっていて、5月までに実施されることになっています。（旭中学校　岡本伸浩　校長）

?️ You must write an essay in response to a question.

? It is important that you write 250 words or more.

⌛ You should spend around 40 minutes on this section of the IELTS test.

? Task 2 is worth 2/3 of your total mark for IELTS Writing.

?️ The key to doing well is knowing exactly what the examiners want and giving it to them.

Your questions answered:

❓ Should I use personal pronouns in my essay?
? You should try to avoid using these, but it is fine to use them when giving your personal opinion.

❓Will using lots of idioms and phrasal verbs boost my score?
? No! You should not use idioms in Writing Task 2.

❓ Is it possible for me to score a Band 8?
? Yes! However, the average IELTS score is 5.5, so you need to work EXTRA hard to get a Band 8.

❓ How many paragraphs should I write?

? Four. Most IELTS Writing Task 2 essays follow the same basic four paragraph structure:

Introduction - Main Body Paragraph 1 - Main Body Paragraph 2 - Conclusion

❓ Will I lose marks if I don’t write enough words?

? Yes. If you don’t write at least 250 words, you will lose marks in ‘Task Achievement’ for not answering the question fully:(
