كي تتحدث بطريقة أكثر وضوحاً عندما تتحدث باللغة الإنجليزية، عليك أن تؤكد على المقطع المناسب داخل كل كلمة تقولها وهو ما يطلق عليه مصطلح ال word stress ، والذي يعني في (علم الصوتيات الإنجليزية) التأكيد في النطق على مقطع معين داخل الكلمة تأكيداً قوياً أكثر من المقاطع الآخر التي تتكون منها الكلمة. في الفيديو بالأعلى نلقي الضوء على:
تعريف word stress في الصوتيات الإنجليزية
في الفيديو نوضح معنى ال word stress وأهيتها في الصوتيات الإنجليزية، سنوضح أيضاً كيفية نطقها على المقطع المناسب داخل الكلمة وذلك بإتباع الخطوات التالية:

رفع الصوت قليلاً عن نطق حروف العلة vowel sounds
إطالة نطق صوت العلة ليلاً
تخفيض التأكيد من على باقي مقاطع الكلمة بتقليل الصوت على حروف العلة ويتم ذلك بتحويل حرف العلة وتحويله إلى schwa
